Saint Joseph was one of the favorite vineyards of Charlemagne, brother of a certain Ogier the Dane. They fought together against the Emir Baligant at the Battle of Roncesvalles, which they won in 778 sealing their bonds forever.
In homage to this beautiful victory, this Saint Joseph expresses all its elegance and intensity, on subtle notes of black fruits and morello cherries.
Maturing 12 months in oak barrels from 1 to 40 years old.
Delicate black fruit (blackcurrant, blueberry) interwoven with magnificent notes of truffle and undergrowth (bark, fresh moss) on a finely floral (violet) background.
Very deep, frank and very well balanced by silky tannins.
